RE: Nascar tailgating

Nascar tailgating.. "wondering what to bring?"
A good guess would be lots of beer.
Any thing that can be eaten that is meat-like. Forget salads or anything that is healthy.

Interesting, but I wouldn't quit my day job to sell them.
They look a little too complicated and bulky for ease of use and ease of transport.

RE: I just ordered a Watts N55BG water regulator...opinions?

I am unhappy with my cheapie 45 psi water regulator due to the low flow. I ordered a Watts N55BG, are you guys happy with yours?
Bob,
Too late to ask now...you already sent in your $$$$ lol.
Seriously, I have the same one. Works great..very happy with it.
I use a "quick connect" on it. I have a 10 foot hose and a 25 foot hose. This makes it real easy to use either hose as needed depending on how far I am from the hydrant. I don't have to have a lot of extra hose all tangled up and lying all over the ground.

RE: Duramax LLY Overheating

No comment or experience with the LLY.
But if you change trucks, look for a later edition 06 or the "classic 07.
Both will have the "LBZ" Duramax.

RE: Seattle to Ft. Stevens State Park Oregon

OK: Another question. Which route takes you over that long bridge?
Moisheh
Both ways have a long and high bridge. Both bridges make my wife nervous. The 101 route is a more nervous bridge for her....:E

RE: New truck

argue "pinion rings" this and argue that...tell stories about a guy who did this and a guy who did that..
I think we can all agree that the poster bought a nice truck and that he should READ THE MANUAL. Let the guys who designed and built the truck also have a say in how he breaks it it.

RE: Seattle to Ft. Stevens State Park Oregon

Or Longview then HWY 4 on the Washington side to the Astoria bridge.
Jim
Jim also has a good suggestion here. We have done both ways many times and I actually think Hwy 4 is more scenic...it's closer to the River and right at river level most of the way.

RE: Seattle to Ft. Stevens State Park Oregon

We go to Ft. Stevens a lot. We always stay on I-5 south to Longview and cross the Columbia. Then we take Hwy 30 along the River on the Oregon Side to Astoria and into Ft. Stevens SP. It's a very easy ride for any size rig.
You can go the way you posted..but it will take you longer and there are lots more log trucks to deal with on that route.
Have a good trip.

RE: What are the parameters of using OD?

If it does not "hunt" (constantly shift up and down into and out of OD) I'd leave it it OD. Just watch the temps also.
Sounds like it is working just fine the way you are using it.

RE: tow/haul

I use mine on county roads. As others have said it holds each gear longer on both up and down shifts. the real disadvantage i have found to it is that it will NOT let it into 4gear till about 65mph. when on a flat road crusing at 60 there is NO reason not to be in 4 th gear...which is when i turn mine off.
I looked at your signature picture in your profile. Are you really towing that trailer with the passenger car? I wasn't aware that a 4 speed in that car even has a tow haul mode. (learn something new every day.)
I was talking talking 6 speed trannys. Ours easily get into 6th at 60+ mph while in tow haul.

RE: Slides stored in or out?

Store them IN.
Your rig will be more balanced, less chance for critters to get in, probably better sealed up against rain/weather with the slides in.
No real reason to leave them out unless you are going to be inside your trailer...

RE: tow/haul

On our Allison tranny T/H changes the shift points. Basically holds the tranny in each gear longer (higher RPM's)
Tow Haul helps keep your tranny from "hunting" and thus will keep it a bit cooler. Also when in T/H the "Grade Braking" feature is engaged.
Whenever we are hooked up, I put it in tow haul.

RE: Ceiling Blisters in 2007 Jayco Jay Feather 26L

Start by taking a pin or needle and puncturing a couple of these blisters." See of any moisture/water comes out. Also test to see how soft or easy it is to push the pin up into the ceiling....
Take pictures, document everything and make sure you get it looked at by the dealer. It's important to get a warranty claim started before your warranty runs out...if there is a problem.
